"Only when the farmer puts his foot in the soil can we put our hands in the food"
In accordance with this saying and as a thanks giving to the sun god, the importance of a farmer, farming equipments and the cattle pongal festival is being celebrated. Pongal festival was celebrated at Kaviyan School was in the following manner.
On 13-1-2014 colourful kolams (rangolis) were drawn and Suryan Pongal was celebrated. The Tamil teacher explained to the students the reason and importance of the Pongal festival. The teachers performed Kummi in an efficient manner. In the end, students were greeted and given Sweet Pongal.
